What Is the Flow Hive / Auto Harvest Beehive?
The Flow super fits onto an existing standard Langstroth brood box in place of a conventional honey super. Inside, the Flow Frames contain partially pre-formed food-grade plastic honeycomb cells. Bees cap the cells with wax and fill them with honey in the same way as natural comb. When harvest time comes, the beekeeper inserts the Flow key into each frame through a slot in the side or rear of the super, turns it, and the cells split open ā releasing honey that drains down a channel and out through a tube into a container below, without the beekeeper needing to open the hive.
